The pneumatic Italian-style wafer insulated ball valve is a pneumatic ball valve featuring a compact Italian design, wafer mounting configuration and insulated jacket structure. It is mainly applied in industrial piping systems where medium temperature must be maintained to avoid solidification, crystallization or viscosity increase of the process fluid.
Adopting a short-pattern wafer design, the valve can be installed directly between pipe flanges, effectively saving installation space and reducing valve weight. An external jacket is equipped on the valve body, through which steam, heat transfer oil or other heating media can be circulated to continuously insulate or heat the valve body and flow passage.
It is suitable for automated piping systems in petrochemical, chemical, resin, asphalt, oil, heat medium, heat transfer oil and other services involving easily solidified or high-viscosity media.
Working Principle of Pneumatic Italian-Style Wafer Insulated Ball Valve
The pneumatic Italian-style wafer insulated ball valve is driven by a pneumatic actuator. After clean compressed air enters the actuator, it drives the internal transmission mechanism to generate 0°~90° quarter-turn torque, rotating the valve stem and ball core synchronously. The valve is fully open when the bore of the ball core aligns with the pipeline passage for medium flow; rotating the ball core by 90° blocks the passage to shut off the medium. Equipped with an integral body jacket, the valve allows circulation of heating media such as steam and heat transfer oil to maintain process temperature and prevent medium solidification and crystallization.
The valve can be equipped with solenoid valves, limit switches and other accessories to realize remote automatic control and valve position feedback. The single-acting actuator with built-in spring will automatically reset upon air loss to meet fail-safe requirements. Its compact wafer construction enables installation between flanges, ideal for heat-preserving anti-solidification process pipelines.
Pneumatic Shut‑off Ball Valve are 0‑90° rotary valves. They utilize pneumatic actuators to convert compressed air into rotary motion, delivering fast and reliable valve opening and closing for industrial process control.
According to specific application requirements, pneumatic ball valves can be equipped with solenoid valves, limit switches, position feedback devices, air filter‑regulators, valve positioners and other pneumatic instrument accessories to realize automatic valve control and remote monitoring functions.
Many factors shall be considered when selecting a pneumatic ball valve, including valve size, pressure rating, operating temperature, process medium, flow rate, body material, seat material, actuator type and control mode.
