Manual Hard‑Seated Flanged Butterfly Valve with Locking Device is a manually‑operated, flanged‑connected butterfly valve with metal‑to‑metal sealing structure. It is suitable for industrial pipeline systems requiring reliable shut‑off and fixed disc position retention.The valve stem is rotated by a lever or handwheel, driving the butterfly disc to swing within 0°‑90°, so as to realize opening, closing and flow regulation of pipeline media.

Equipped with a locking device, the valve can lock the actuator at fully‑open, fully‑closed or any intermediate position. It prevents unintended position change caused by mis‑operation, vibration or other external factors.The hard‑seated seat delivers excellent high‑temperature resistance, wear resistance and pressure resistance, and is applicable for industrial services including water, steam, oil products, gas and some corrosive media.

Working Principle of Manual Hard‑Seated Flanged Butterfly Valve with Locking Device:
Opening:  Rotate the lever/handwheel clockwise or counter‑clockwise. The valve stem drives the butterfly disc to a position substantially parallel to the pipeline axis, fully opening the flow passage for smooth media flow.

Closing:  Operate the actuator in the reverse direction to rotate the butterfly disc to a position substantially perpendicular to the pipeline axis. The disc presses tightly against the hard‑seated seat to cut off the media flow.

Throttling: Keep the butterfly disc at an intermediate opening position. The pipeline flow can be adjusted to a certain extent by changing the angle between the disc and the media flow direction.

Locking:  Once the valve reaches the desired opening, secure the operating lever or valve stem via the locking device. This prevents unintended rotation caused by accidental impact, vibration or changes in pipeline operating conditions, so as to maintain a stable valve position.
