Pneumatic Italian-Style Wafer Ball Valve Also known as pneumatic thin‑pattern wafer ball valve, it is a quarter‑turn on‑off ball valve featuring Italian‑style ultra‑short body construction. It is clamped between two pipeline flanges without dedicated valve flanges. Equipped with ISO5211 direct mounting pad for pneumatic actuator, it is mainly used for on‑off shut‑off; proportional throttling is available with positioner. Thanks to compact size and light weight, it fits well for confined space and dense pipe‑rack applications. Widely applied in chemical, water treatment, pharmaceutical, light‑industry and environmental‑protection automatic piping systems. Soft‑seat and metal‑seat versions are both available.
Working Principle
Compressed air powers the pneumatic actuator. Rack‑and‑pinion mechanism converts air power into 0‑90° quarter‑turn rotation, driving the ball via stem. Full‑open status is reached when ball bore aligns with pipeline axis; full‑close when ball bore is perpendicular to flow direction for fluid shut‑off.
Fitted with solenoid valve for remote two‑position on‑off operation. Equipped with 4‑20mA positioner, it accepts PLC/DCS signals to modulate ball rotation for regulating flow, pressure and other process parameters. Double‑acting and spring‑return single‑acting actuators are optional to realize fail‑safe modes: Fail‑Close (FC), Fail‑Open (FO), Fail‑Locked (FL).
Pneumatic Shut‑off Ball Valve are 0‑90° rotary valves. They utilize pneumatic actuators to convert compressed air into rotary motion, delivering fast and reliable valve opening and closing for industrial process control.
According to specific application requirements, pneumatic ball valves can be equipped with solenoid valves, limit switches, position feedback devices, air filter‑regulators, valve positioners and other pneumatic instrument accessories to realize automatic valve control and remote monitoring functions.
