The gear-operated top-mounted eccentric half-ball valve is a high-performance rotary shut-off valve featuring a top-mounted structure, eccentric half-ball design and worm gear actuation. Adopting a top-mounted body configuration, its internal trim can be assembled, disassembled and maintained from the top of the valve body without removing the entire valve or dismantling pipelines, making it ideal for large-scale, high-pressure industrial piping systems with limited maintenance space.

Equipped with an internal eccentric half-ball structure, the valve achieves separation and compression between the ball and seat through eccentric rotation during opening and closing cycles, effectively reducing friction and wear on sealing surfaces. The worm gear actuator drives the valve stem to rotate the half-ball approximately 90°, realizing rapid flow switching and reliable media shut-off.

Working Principle of Top-Mounted Eccentric Half-Ball Valve
Opening Process: Rotate the worm gear mechanism to drive the valve stem. The eccentric structure lifts the half ball away from the valve seat first, achieving completely friction-free separation of the sealing surfaces. Afterwards, the ball rotates steadily to the fully open position. The straight-through unobstructed flow passage allows smooth medium flow without dead zones or material accumulation.

Closing Process: Reverse the worm gear operation to rotate the ball back to the sealing position. Relying on eccentric mechanical wedge tightening force, the half-ball sealing surface presses tightly against the valve seat to form a high-strength metal hard seal. The sealing performance improves with higher medium pressure, which effectively compensates for minor wear on the sealing surfaces. It realizes tight bidirectional shutoff and eliminates medium leakage.
