The centric soft‑seated wafer butterfly valve is a butterfly valve with concentric‑seated construction, soft‑seal seat and wafer‑type connection. It mainly consists of valve body, butterfly disc, stem, seat and actuator.
The butterfly disc is positioned at the center of the pipeline. Rotation of the disc driven by the valve stem realizes opening, shut‑off and flow regulation of the medium. With wafer‑type design, the valve features light weight, compact structure and small installation space, making it suitable for medium‑low pressure piping systems.
Working Principle of Centric‑Seated Butterfly Valve:
Valve Opening: The hand lever, worm‑gear or actuator drives the valve stem to rotate, and the butterfly disc opens gradually. When the butterfly disc turns to a position nearly parallel to the pipeline axis, the valve is fully open and the medium can flow through unobstructed.
Valve Closing: Drive the valve stem in the reverse direction to rotate the butterfly disc until it is perpendicular to the pipeline axis. The outer edge of the disc comes into full contact with the soft‑seated seat. A tight seal is formed by the elastic pre‑tension force of the seat, shutting off the flow of medium.
Manual butterfly valves are widely used in industrial piping systems for fast and reliable flow isolation and regulation. Key parameters including working temperature, medium, pressure rating, valve size and connection standard should be confirmed before ordering for proper valve selection. Customized valve sizes, pressure ratings, connection types, sealing materials and body materials are available for diverse industrial and non-standard applications. (Unit: mm)
